Panzhihua University overview
Panzhihua University (PZHU) was established in 1983 and is the only Ministry of Education-distributed comprehensive undergraduate university in southwest Sichuan and northwest Yunnan. It has 15,967 students and 1,162 faculty members, of whom 41% hold senior titles and 83% hold master's or doctoral degrees.
Clinical training is based at the Panzhihua University Affiliated Hospital, a Class A tertiary hospital, which is also the site of the year 6 internship. The university has 1 national vanadium and titanium laboratory and 32 provincial laboratories, and it is among the first 100 national innovation and entrepreneurship universities.
The 1,450 mu campus has separate male and female hostels (2 to 3 sharing), a Muslim canteen, dormitory kitchens with shared cooking facilities and a library of 1.3 million books. Panzhihua, known as the Sunshine City, has more than 2,700 hours of sunshine a year, a subtropical climate and mild winters. Food costs about ¥1,000 to ¥1,200 per month.
Important: this university is registered with the Ministry of Education but is not on the MOE list of 45 universities approved for fully English-medium MBBS. Pakistani graduates can sit the PM&DC licensing exam. Indian and Bangladeshi students should check the current NMC and BMDC rules with those councils before applying.

- Bangladeshi students: SSC and HSC with PCB subjects, at least 60%
HSK: Students must pass HSK 4 within year 1 or they cannot move on to the clinical curriculum.

Tuition and hostel together come to ¥19,400 per year.
Before you apply: The application fee is ¥1,500 and is paid separately. The first year is a package that includes admission, registration, visa, medical check-up, insurance, tuition and hostel. We confirm the first-year amount in writing.

- Sichuan Provincial Government Scholarship: partial tuition or living allowance for outstanding students.
