Hubei University of Science and Technology overview
Hubei University of Science and Technology was founded in 1937 and is located in Xianning, Hubei Province, about 20 minutes by train from the city of Wuhan.
It has two campuses, Wenquan and Xian'an, with a total area of 1,861 acres and 660,000 square meters of school buildings, and is a pilot university for the Outstanding Doctor Education and Training Plan in Hubei Province.
The university hosts over 20,000 students, including 300+ graduate students and 300+ international students. Its faculty numbers over 1,800, including 170+ senior professionals, 420+ doctorate holders and 120+ graduate tutors.
Provincial government and university scholarships exist for eligible students. The amounts and quotas are set by the university and change from year to year, so ask us for the current details.

Fee structure (March 2025 intake)
All amounts are in Chinese Yuan (¥) and come from the CIES Study fee schedule for this university. The highlighted line is our own service (liaison) fee. All other lines relate to the university and government charges.

Before you apply: Application fee ¥1,500 (not in the package). After the pre-admission notice a ¥5,000 security deposit is paid and deducted from the first-year package (26,500 − 5,000 = 21,500). On arrival students also pay about ¥700 insurance, ¥500 books (first year only), ¥500 physical examination and ¥400 residence permit, at actual cost.
Terms to know before you pay
- Our service charge covers document attestation guidance, visa processing help, visa interview preparation, pre-departure services, luggage and travel advice, group travel arrangements and post-landing services.
- The application fee is non-refundable after the pre-admission letter is issued.
- Students must clear the remaining first-year fee before traveling to China. Hostel is not provided if any amount is due.
- Individual pickups are available on request and are self-financed.
- All fees paid to the company or the university are neither refundable nor transferable.
- Students are responsible for the authenticity of their documents.
