Shandong First Medical University overview
Shandong First Medical University (SDFMU) was founded in 1891 and is located in Tai'an, Shandong Province, between Beijing and Shanghai. According to the brochure, Tai'an is about two hours from Beijing by train.
It has 13 directly affiliated hospitals and 22 non-directly affiliated hospitals, including 18 Grade III Level A general hospitals and 8 Grade III Level A specialty hospitals. The university has 1,500 faculty and staff and 19 scientific research institutes.
More than 17 batches of international students have graduated from the university. The Clinical Medicine program covers essential subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Pathology. A BDS program (5 years including internship) is also listed in our brochure. Ask us for its fees.

Before you apply: Application fee ¥1,500 (extra to the package, non-refundable after the conditional offer). After the conditional offer a security deposit of ¥5,000 is paid directly to the university account and deducted from the first-year tuition paid on arrival.
Terms to know before you pay
- Students pay a registration fee (¥400) in the first year only, and visa extension (¥400), medical check-up (¥400) and medical insurance (¥800) themselves.
- Pay the tuition, hostel and other university expenses directly to the university account, and the management charges to the company, before hostel allotment and registration on arrival.
- Air ticket, stationery, food, hostel security deposit and Chinese books are not included.
- All fees once paid to the company or the university are non-refundable and non-transferable under the signed MOU.
